Luminate Surf & Skate is a community oriented surf and skate brand based in Marshfield Massachusetts. Luminate was founded by Bob Pollard in 2003 to serve surfers and skaters of all ages and abilities. Both before and after Bob’s tragic death in June 2006, the community’s strong support has been the force that’s driven Luminate forward.
In May 2008, Bob’s wife Amelia sold the shop to Bob’s first employee, friend, and team rider Dan Hassett. Bob was Dan’s hero and mentor and to this day, most of Luminate’s charity events donate to the fund setup to help raise Pollard’s children.
Originally named Levitate, Luminate was renamed in April 2010 to avoid trademark issues that threatened to close the shop.
Luminate’s commitment is displayed through service, contests, beach cleanups, and the support of dozens of local charities*. We are proud to be a special place for many people, and warmly invite everybody to be a part of it.
